As the weather heats up,
you’ll need to keep your grass and plants hydrated. Here
are a few tips to help you water your plants without breaking the bank.
Watering Tips:
- Use a Soaker Hose – A standard garden hose is actually the least efficient way to water your plants. A soaker hose or sprinkler wand will help prevent water lost as mist, runoff, and evaporation.
- Avoid Overwatering – Overwatering is just as bad as under watering. It can lead to root rot and end up killing your plant. Lawn’s need about 1 inch of water a week. You should also read the tags on your plants to determine how much water they need.
- Mulch – Mulch is a great way to hold in moisture and keep your plants hydrated and cool. If the mulch is toot hick, it can prevent water from soaking in. Break up any crusted mulch with a rake to let the water through.
- Timing – The best time to water your plants is in the morning, when it is still cool outside. This also helps your plant take up water during the day.
