When shopping for a new
refrigerator for your kitchen, you should always consider your needs, goals,
and priorities. Depending on how you
plan on using your new appliance, one type of fridge may be more convenient than
another. Here are a few things you
should consider before purchasing your new fridge.
Refrigerator Types:
- Top-Mounted Freezer – This configuration is considered an economical choice for shoppers with budget constraints. However, they offer less interior capacity and the most frequently visited areas of the fridge are located down low.
- Side-By-Side – This is the most popular refrigerator type. It offers convenient access to the freezer and fridge, as well as adequate interior space. However, since the doors are long and slim, it can be difficult to fit larger foods like pizzas into the freezer.
- Bottom-Mounted-Freezer – This refrigerator types is very similar to the top-mounted freezer. The main difference and benefit is that the area of the fridge that is accessed most frequently is at eye level.
- French Door – This fridge style still features the freezer on the bottom. However, the opposing half doors open to the fridge rather than one large door. The style requires less clearance to open.
